Toast is Edinburgh’s neighbourhood café with a trio of locations: a bustling café-wine-bar on the Shore, toasties and pours in leafy Marchmont, and a bright bakery on Leith Walk.
Three Neighbourhood Corners
The Shore
Our family-friendly café-wine-bar with full menu and an all-day European vibe, housed in a former art gallery and right on the waterfront.
Marchmont
A leafy local spot that’s the neighbourhood go-to for toasties, wine, and bottles to take home.
Leith Walk bakery
A warm, bright bakery bringing French patisserie and local coffee to Leith Walk.

The Shore
Once an art gallery (and long before that, part of the port’s old merchant quarter) this bright corner overlooks the water and catches light all day. A full café-wine-bar great for families and friends to enjoy long brunches, late glasses, and a menu that drifts from Mediterranean plates to café classics.

Marchmont
Set on a leafy residential corner, Toast Marchmont sits in what used to be Peter Green — a century-old neighbourhood wine shop with deep local roots. Today it’s a cosy spot filled with locals popping in for toasties, wine, and takeaway bottles.

Leith Walk bakery
Toast’s newest corner started as a tucked-away production bakery before finding its own home on the Walk. Now it’s a bright little patisserie turning out French pastries, cakes, and great coffee from morning onward — all made on-site and shared across the Toast family.
